275 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; he said: Ahmad b. Ibrahim narrated to us; he said: Khalaf b. Tamim narrated to us; he said: Ismaʿil b. Ibrahim b. Muhajir narrated to us; he said: I heard my father relate it from Mujahid, from Ibn ʿAbbas, who said:
"Indeed, the earth seems constricted in people’s eyes when it is under a just ruler, yet it appears wide-open to them when it is under an unjust one. Even so, in the era of the just ruler the land brings forth and prospers with what it never yields in the time of a tyrant."
٢٧٥ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ قَالَ: وَحَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا خَلَفُ بْنُ تَمِيمٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مُهَاجِرٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يَذْكُرُهُ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: «إِنَّ الْأَرْضَ. . . فِي أَعْيُنِ النَّاسِ إِذَا كَانَ عَلَيْهَا إِمَامٌ عَادِلٌ، وَإِنَّهَا لَتُفْتَحُ فِي أَعْيُنِ النَّاسِ إِذَا كَانَ عَلَيْهَا إِمَامٌ جَائِرٌ، وَإِنَّهَا لَتُخْرِجُ فِي زَمَانِ الْإِمَامِ الْعَادِلِ، تَزْكُو مَا لَا تَزْكُو فِي زَمَانِ الْجَائِرِ»
