257 – ʿAbdullāh narrated to us; he said: Ishāq ibn Ismāʿīl and al-Ḥasan ibn al-Ṣabbāḥ narrated to us; they said: Sufyān ibn ʿUyaynah narrated to us, from Jāmiʿ ibn Abī Rāshid, from Mundhir, from Ḥasan ibn Muḥammad, from ʿĀʾishah (may Allah be pleased with her), reporting that the Prophet ﷺ said, ⦗172⦘ “When evil becomes openly practiced on earth, Allah unleashes His punishment upon the inhabitants of the earth.” I asked, “O Messenger of Allah, even though among them are those who obey Allah?” He replied, “Yes; then they will be taken onward to the mercy of Allah.”
