255 – ʿAbdullāh narrated to us; he said: Muḥammad ibn ʿAlī ibn al-Ḥusayn narrated to us; he said: Ibrāhīm ibn al-Ashʿath narrated to us; he said: ʿAbdullāh ibn Muʿādh narrated to us, from Maʿmar, from Qatādah concerning the verse, “And before them many exemplary punishments had already passed” (Q 13:6). He said, “It means the punishments.”
