- ʿAbd Allah narrated to us, and ʿAli b. al-Hasan likewise related to me. He said: Masʿud b. ʿAmr reported from Yusuf b. Asbat, who said: “I once mentioned the legal concessions (rukhaṣ) in the presence of Sufyan al-Thawri. He remarked, ‘I have heard that when Allah commands an angel with a task and the angel shows slackness in his flight, Allah clips his wing and does not permit him to ascend to heaven until the Day of Resurrection.’”
