210 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; he said: Hamzah b. al-ʿAbbās also related to me; he said: ʿAbdān b. ʿUthmān informed us; Ibn al-Mubārak said: Usayd b. ʿAbbād reported, from Ibn Abī Nujayḥ, from Mujāhid, who said: “David asked his Lord to place his sin in the palm of his hand. After that he would not reach for food or drink, nor stretch his hand toward anything, without seeing his sin before him—and it made him weep.”
