199 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; he said: my father, may Allah have mercy on him, narrated to me; he said: Sufyan ibn ʿUyaynah narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, who said:

“Solomon son of David, peace be upon him, said: ‘We were granted what people were granted and what they were not granted, and we were taught what people were taught and what they did not know. Yet we found nothing better than fearing Allah, exalted is He, in private and in public; maintaining moderation in poverty and in wealth; and uttering the word of truth whether pleased or angry.’”
