165 – ʿAbdullāh narrated to us; he said: Hārūn narrated to me; he said: Saʿīd ibn ʿĀmir related, from Ḥammād ibn Zayd, who said:
“A man once met Jacob (peace be upon him) and asked, ‘O Jacob, why do I no longer see you as I used to?’ He replied, ‘The long passage of time and the abundance of sorrows.’
Then he was told, ‘O Jacob, are you complaining about Me?’ He said, ‘My Lord, it is a sin—so forgive it.’”
