ʿAbd Allah ibn Qudāmah ibn Sakhr al-ʿUqaylī was asked about this report. He said, “I met him at the gate of the governor’s residence and brought the matter up with him. He replied, ‘Abu Dharr maintained that they were with the Prophet ﷺ during the Tabūk campaign. When they passed through a valley, the Prophet ﷺ said, “People, you are in an accursed valley—move quickly!” He then mounted his horse and pressed on, and the people pressed on with him. He added, “Whoever has kneaded dough … let him give it to his camel, and whoever has a pot on the fire, let him overturn it.”’”
