14 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; he said: Dawud ibn Rushayd narrated to us; he said: Baqiyyah ibn al-Walid narrated to us, from ʿAbd Allah ibn Nuʿaym, from Abu Hazzan, who said:

“Allah sent two angels to the people of a village with the command: ‘Destroy everyone in it.’ When they arrived, they found a man standing in the mosque performing prayer. One of the angels pleaded, ‘Our Lord, we have found within it Your servant So-and-so, standing in prayer inside a mosque.’ Allah replied, ‘Lay it waste, and lay him waste along with it, for never once has his face shown indignation for My sake.’”
