116 – Abu Bakr narrated to us; he said: al-Ḥusayn b. Muḥammad al-Qurashī and al-Ḥusayn b. ʿAlī al-ʿIjlī narrated to us; they said: ʿAmr b. Muḥammad narrated to us; he said: Abū al-ʿAbbās narrated to us, from Yaḥyā b. Yaʿlā, who said:
“Hud, peace be upon him, said to his people when they openly adopted the worship of idols: ‘My people, Allah has sent me to you and has entrusted me with your care. Therefore, meet Him with obedience and obey Him … Whoever obeys Allah secures for himself—by his own choice—Allah’s good pleasure; whereas whoever disobeys Allah brings upon himself—by his own choice—Allah’s wrath. You are inhabitants of the earth, and the earth depends upon the heavens, while the heavens are self-sufficient with what is in them. So obey Him: your lives will become wholesome and you will be safe thereafter. Indeed, when Allah is angry, this vast earth becomes too narrow even for a mosquito.’”
