111 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; he said: Muhammad ibn al-Husayn narrated to me; he said: ʿAbd Allah ibn al-Faraj narrated to me, from Fath al-Mawsili, who said:

Adam (peace be upon him) said to his son, “My child, we were a progeny springing from the people of Paradise. We were fashioned as they were fashioned and sustained by the same provision. Then our enemy Iblis took us captive through sin, and now we have no relief or rest—only worry, hardship, and toil—until we are returned to the abode from which we were expelled.”
