Saʿīd ibn Jubayr then said, “Ibn ʿAbbās narrated to us that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: ‘The nations were displayed before me. I saw a prophet ⦗66⦘ passing by accompanied by a small band, another prophet passing by with three men—or two—another prophet passing by with a single man, and yet another prophet passing by with no one at all. Then a great multitude was raised before me and I said, “This is my community.” I was told, “This is not your community; this is Moses and his people.” After that, an even larger host filling the entire horizon was shown to me, and it was said, “This is your community, and with them are seventy thousand who will enter Paradise without reckoning and without punishment.”’

He continued, ‘The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) then went indoors, and we began discussing those seventy. We said, “Who are the people who will enter Paradise without reckoning? Are they those who kept the Prophet’s company, or those who were born into Islam and never associated anything with Allah?” When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came out, he asked, “What were you talking about?” They informed him, and he said, “They are those who do not seek ruqya, do not cauterize themselves, and put their trust in their Lord.”

ʿUkkāsha ibn Miḥṣan stood up and said, “O Messenger of Allah, am I among them?” He replied, “You are among them.” Then another man from the Emigrants rose and said, “O Messenger of Allah, am I among them?” He answered, “ʿUkkāsha has beaten you to it.”
