28 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; Muhammad ibn Idris informed us; Musa ibn Ayyub reported; Baqiyyah, from Zurʿah ibn ʿAbd Allah al-Zubaydi, from ʿAbd Allah ibn Kariz, who said: “The governor of Ifriqiyah wrote to ʿUmar ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAziz complaining about vermin and scorpions. ʿUmar wrote back to him: ‘What would it cost any one of you, when evening comes and when morning dawns, to say, “And why should we not place our trust in Allah?” (Quran 14:12).’” Zurʿah added, “It is also effective against fleas.”
