12 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; Ishaq ibn Ismaʿil narrated to us; Jarir narrated to us, from Yahya ibn Saʿid, from Saʿid ibn al-Musayyab, who said: ʿAbd Allah ibn Salam and Salman once met. One of them said to the other, “If you die before I do, meet me and tell me what you have encountered with your Lord; and if I die before you, I will meet you and inform you.” The other asked, “Do the dead meet the living?” He replied, “Yes. Their souls roam in Paradise wherever they wish.” ⦗52⦘ Later, one of them passed away; he met his companion in a dream and said, “Rely on Allah and rejoice, for I have never seen anything like tawakkul before. Rely on Allah and rejoice, for I have never seen anything like tawakkul before.”
