39 – Rūḥ ibn al-Faraj narrated to me, saying: Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Muqriʾ narrated to us; Saʿīd ibn Abī Ayyūb narrated to us; ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-Walīd narrated to us, from Kaʿb al-Aḥbār, that Moses, the Prophet of God, said: “My Lord, do not let me behold the soul I killed on the Day of Resurrection.” The Lord said, “Did I not already forgive you for that, O Moses?” He replied, “Indeed, yet what I behold of Your justice makes me fear that my heart might be seized with dread on the Day of Resurrection.” He said, “Then you shall not see him.”
