38 – Ishaq ibn Hatim al-Madaʾini told me; Sufyan ibn ʿUyaynah reported to us, from Humayd, from Mujahid, from ʿUbayd ibn ʿUmayr, who said: On the Day of Resurrection David will not feel secure, repeatedly saying, “My sin, my sin!” It will then be said to him, “Come closer,” so he approaches a spot where he appears to find safety. That is the meaning of His words: “Indeed, with Us he will have a station of nearness and a good return” (Qur’an 38:25).
