208 – Muḥammad ibn ʿAlī narrated to us, from Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Muqriʾ. Ḥaywah ibn Shurayḥ and Ibn Luhayʿah both said: We heard Yazīd ibn Abī Ḥabīb say, “Abū ʿImrān al-Tujībī related to me that he heard Abū Ayyūb al-Anṣārī say:
“A man may perform a single good deed and then rely on it, all the while accumulating petty sins until, when he comes before Allah, they have engulfed him. Another man may commit a wrongdoing but remain fearful of it until he meets Allah in a state of safety.”
