Al-TawbaIbn Abi al-Dunya

207 – Muḥammad narrated to us; Ibrāhīm narrated; Yūsuf ibn Ibrāhīm narrated, from Abū al-Ṣabāḥ, from Hammām, from Kaʿb, who said: “A servant may commit ⦗147⦘ a minor sin, belittle it, feel no remorse, and seek no forgiveness; in Allah’s sight it then swells until it becomes like a mountain. Conversely, he may commit a grave sin but repent of it and ask forgiveness, whereupon it diminishes in Allah’s estimation until it is forgiven.”
