190 – Muhammad ibn al-Husayn narrated to me; ʿAmr ibn Ḥurayth narrated to us. He said, “I heard Abū Ṭālib the storyteller relate—from ʿAṭiyyah al-ʿAwfī—who said: ‘It has reached me that whoever weeps over a sin, that sin will be wiped away from him.’” ʿAmr added, “Al-Ashjaʿī also narrated to me from Abū Ṭālib, from ʿAṭiyyah, who said: ‘and a good deed is recorded for him.’”
