185 – Muhammad ibn al-Husayn narrated to me; Bakr ibn Muhammad al-Basri narrated to us; Salim ibn Nuh al-ʿAttar narrated to us, from ʿUmar ibn Musa al-Qurashi, from ʿAwn ibn ʿAbd Allah, who said:
“The sins of those who repent stand constantly before their eyes, raised there by remorse. Whenever the penitent remembers what he has brought upon his own soul, his eyes find no rest in this world. He would say: ‘The repentant person is quicker to shed tears and softer of heart.’”
