143 – ʿAlī ibn Muslim related to me; then Ibn Abī Fudayk narrated to us. ⦗117⦘ Al-Khalīl ibn ʿAbd Allāh informed me, saying: when Allah is pleased with a servant, He makes the recording angels forget that servant’s sins, and He commands the limbs and the very earth, “Conceal them from My servant.” It has also reached me that Allah never grants a servant any occasion of good without intending to accept it from him, nor does He pull a servant away from a sin without intending to forgive him for it.
