137 – Hamzah ibn al-‘Abbas narrated to me; ‘Abdan ibn ‘Uthman informed us; ‘Abd Allah ibn al-Mubarak informed us; Ibn Lahi‘ah informed us; Yazid ibn Abi Habib related it; and Abu’l-Khayr told me that he heard ‘Uqbah ibn ‘Amir say: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “ …and performs good deeds is like a man ⦗113⦘ who is encased in a tight coat of mail that is choking him. He performs a good deed and one ring loosens; then he performs another and another ring loosens, until he is finally freed of it and can stand upon the earth.”
