114 – Muhammad ibn Hatim narrated to me; al-Hasan ibn Musa al-Ashyab narrated to us. He said: “I heard Zuhayr ibn Muʿawiyah al-Juʿfi narrating to us from Abu Isḥaq al-Hamdani, from Abu ʿUbaydah, from Ibn Masʿud, who said:

‘When you see one of your brethren commit a sin, do not pray against him and do not revile him. ⦗100⦘ Rather, ask Allah to grant him well-being and to accept his repentance. For in our experience, whenever we saw a man whose life was sealed with goodness, we hoped well for him; and when it was sealed with evil, we feared for him.’”
