—and on that day he addresses the people. A man came to him on that very day and said, “Give me some counsel.” He asked, “Have you committed a sin?” The man replied, “Yes.” He said, “Do you realize that Allah had decreed it for you?” He answered, “Yes.” He concluded, “Then keep striving until you know that Allah has erased it from you.”
١٠٩ - حَدَّثَنِي رَجُلٌ، مِنَ الْمُتَعَبِّدِينَ لَا يَتَكَلَّمُ فِي السَّنَةِ إِلَّا يَوْمًا وَاحِدًا، يُكَلِّمُ فِيهِ النَّاسَ، فَأَتَاهُ رَجُلٌ فِي ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمِ الَّذِي يَتَكَلَّمُ فِيهِ، فَقَالَ: أَوْصِنِي فَقَالَ: «هَلْ أَذْنَبْتَ؟» , قَالَ: نَعَمْ، قَالَ: «فَعَلِمْتَ أَنَّ اللَّهَ كَتَبَهُ عَلَيْكَ؟» , قَالَ: نَعَمْ، قَالَ: «فَاعْمَلْ حَتَّى تَعْلَمَ أَنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ مَحَاهُ عَنْكَ»
