Al-TawbaIbn Abi al-Dunya

85 – Ahmad ibn Budayl al-Yami narrated to us; Salm ibn Salim narrated to us; Saʿid al-Himsi narrated from ʿAsim al-Hidhami, from ʿAtaʾ, from Ibn ʿAbbas, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Whoever repents of a sin is like one who has no sin at all, whereas the person who asks forgiveness for a sin while persisting in it is like someone mocking his Lord. And whoever harms a Muslim shall bear a burden of sin equal to such-and-such.” He then mentioned an unspecified amount.
