9 – Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān Salamah ibn Shabīb narrated to me; Sahl ibn ʿĀṣim narrated to us, from ʿAbd al-Kabīr ibn Muʿāfā ibn ʿImrān, who said: My father narrated to me; he said: Ṭalḥah narrated to us; he said: Qays ibn Saʿd narrated to me that he heard Mujāhid say:
“Not a single day passes without calling out, ‘Child of Adam, I have come upon you today, and after today I shall never return. So look to what you will do with me.’ When it expires, it is rolled up and then sealed, and that seal will not be broken until Allah Himself breaks it on the Day of Resurrection. ⦗19⦘ When the day comes to its close it exclaims, ‘Praise be to Allah, who has relieved me of the world and its people,’ and no night descends upon people without saying the same.”
