62 – Mahmūd ibn Khidāsh narrated to us; Ashʿath ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān narrated to us; a man named ʿAbd al-Malik narrated, from al-Ḥasan, who said: “Son of Adam, do not carry the anxiety of an entire year on the back of a single day. Today already suffices with what it holds. If that year is destined to be part of your lifespan, Allah will surely bring you your provision within it; and if it is not, then why do I see you chasing after what can never be yours?”
