Let no one you behold deceive you to neglect your soul;
Keep every sense awake, reflecting on the final goal.

Do not be cheated by the bitterness of the day in which you stand,
As yesterday once cheated you—let today not command.

The turning of their sun consumed the very people you admire and trust;
The turning of your own sun is enough to lay you with them in the dust.
