31 – Muḥammad narrated to us; Muṭīr ibn al-Rabīʿ narrated to us; he said: ⦗28⦘ Mufaḍḍal ibn Yūnus told me, “Today I saw Muḥammad ibn al-Naḍr, the clansman of Banū al-Ḥārith, looking downcast and sorrowful. I asked him, ‘What is the matter with you? What has happened?’ He replied, ‘A whole night of my life has slipped by and I acquired nothing in it for myself, and now the day too is passing and I see no prospect of acquiring anything in it either. Indeed, we belong to Allah and to Him we shall return.’”
