25 – Al-Mufaddal ibn Ghassan al-Ghalabi narrated to me; Rawh ibn Zibriqan narrated to us. He said: Abu al-Dardaʾ said: “There is no one without a flaw in his reason that leaves it lagging behind the forbearance and knowledge he ought to possess. Proof of this is that when the world offers him an increase in wealth, he stays delighted and jubilant while night and day are relentlessly demolishing his lifespan, yet this does not grieve him. He has indeed wandered far astray. Of what use is wealth that keeps growing when life itself is running out?”
