78 – ʿUbayd Allah al-ʿAtakī informed us; Mūsā ibn Ismāʿīl narrated to us; al-Hunayd ibn al-Qāsim narrated, saying: I heard Ghibṭah bint Khālid say: I heard ʿĀʾishah (may Allah be pleased with her) say, “Let none of you backbite another, for once—while I was with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)—I remarked about a woman, ‘This one has an unusually long hem.’ He said, ‘Spit it out, spit it out!’ So I spat out a piece of flesh.”
