55 – ʿIsa ibn ʿAbd Allah al-Tamimi narrated to us. He said: “News reached me from ʿAttab ibn Bashir, through Khassaf, Khusayf, and ʿAbd al-Karim ibn Malik, who said: ‘We encountered the early generations, and they did not regard worship as residing in fasting or in prayer, but in refraining from violating the honor of others.’”
