54 – Muhammad b. Abi Hatim al-Azdi narrated to us; Dawud b. al-Muhabbar narrated to us; al-Rabiʿ b. Sabih narrated to us. He said: I heard al-Hasan—may Allah have mercy on him—say, “By Allah, backbiting corrodes a believer’s religion faster than a devouring ulcer eats through his flesh.”
