29 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; Ibrahim ibn Dinar narrated to us; Musʿab ibn Sallam narrated to us; from Hamzah ibn Habib al-Zayyat; from Abu Ishaq; from al-Baraʾ (may Allah be pleased with him), who said:

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) once delivered a sermon so forceful that even the adolescent girls listening from inside their homes could hear it. He declared, “O gathering of people who profess faith with their tongues while faith has not yet entered their hearts! Do not backbite the Muslims, and do not pry into their private faults. Whoever pursues his brother’s shortcomings, Allah will pursue his; and whomever Allah pursues, He will expose even if he is hidden inside his own house.”
