Dhamm al-Ghiba wa-l-NamimaIbn Abi al-Dunya

28 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; Abu Khaythama narrated to us; Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us; from Ziyad ibn Abi Ziyad; from Muhammad ibn Sirin, who said: Sulaym ibn Jabir said, “I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and asked, ‘Teach me something good by which Allah will benefit me.’ He replied, ‘Do not underestimate any act of kindness, even if you merely pour from your bucket into the vessel of someone seeking water, or meet your brother with a cheerful face. And if he turns away, do not backbite him.’”
