27 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; Abu Bakr Muhammad ibn Abi ʿAttab narrated to me; ʿAbd al-Quddus Abu al-Mughira narrated to us; from Safwan ibn ʿAmr; from ʿAbd al-Rahman ibn Jubayr ibn Nufayr; from Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “On the night I was taken on the Night Journey, I passed by people who were raking their faces with their fingernails. I asked, ‘O Gabriel, who are these?’ He said, ‘These are those who backbite others and attack their honor.’”
