2 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; Hārūn ibn Maʿrūf narrated to us; Anas ibn ʿIyāḍ narrated to us, from Salamah ibn Wardān. He said: Mālik ibn Aws ibn al-Ḥadathān told me that he was once with the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace). The Messenger of Allah then declared, “It has become binding! It has become binding! It has become binding!” His Companions asked, “Messenger of Allah, what has become binding?” He replied: “Whoever abandons disputation while he is in the right, a house will be built for him in the outskirts of Paradise; whoever gives up lying, a house will be built for him in the outskirts of Paradise; and whoever perfects his character, a house will be built for him in the outskirts of Paradise.”
