21 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Ṣāliḥ told me; Ḥafṣ b. Ghayāth related to us, from Layth, from al-Ḥakam, from Makḥūl, from Muḥammad b. ʿAlī, who said: “Do not sit with those who love to litigate, for they are the very ones who plunge into vain discussion about the verses of Allah.”
