141 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; Ahmad ibn Jamil narrated to us; ʿAbd Allah ibn al-Mubarak informed us; ʿAbd al-Rahman al-Masʿudi informed us, from Malik ibn Asmaʾ ibn Kharijah, who said:

I was with Abu Asmaʾ when a man came to one of the governors and showered him with praise and flattery. The man then came over to Abu Asmaʾ, sat with him in a corner of the house, and in the course of their conversation he had hardly ⦗42⦘ settled before he started maligning that same governor. Abu Asmaʾ said: “I heard ʿAbd Allah ibn Masʿud, may Allah be pleased with him, say: ‘The two-tongued person in this world will have two tongues of fire on the Day of Resurrection.’”
