133 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; Fudayl ibn ʿAbd al-Wahhab narrated to us; Abu ʿAwana narrated to us, from Musa ibn Abi ʿAʾisha, from Sulayman ibn Burayda, who said:
I heard Ibn ʿAbbas—may Allah be pleased with him—explain the Divine words, “but they both betrayed them” (Q 66:10). He said, “It was not adultery; rather, Noah’s wife used to spread the claim that he was mad, while Lot’s wife would reveal to the townspeople whenever guests came to him.”
