128 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; Isḥāq b. Ismāʿīl narrated to us; Jarīr narrated to us, from Manṣūr, from Abū Hāshim, from Abū al-ʿĀliyah—or someone else—who said: I was informed that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Last night two men came to me and stood on either side of me. They set off with me until they brought me to a man holding an iron hook. He would thrust it into a man’s mouth and rip open the side of it until it reached his jaw, then it would return to its former state and he would repeat the process. I asked, ‘Who is this?’ They replied, ‘These are the people who go about spreading malicious gossip.’”
