124 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; Ahmad ibn Jamil narrated to us; ʿAbd Allah ibn al-Mubarak narrated to us; Ibn Lahiʿa informed us, from ʿAbd Allah ibn Hubayrah, from ʿAbd Allah ibn Zurayr al-Ghafiqi, from ʿAli—may Allah be pleased with him—who said:

“The one who transmits a false statement and the one who stretches its rope by helping it spread are equal in sin.”
