121 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; Ahmad ibn Jamil narrated to us; ʿAbd Allah ibn al-Mubarak informed us, from Wahib—meaning Ibn Khalid—from Musa ibn ʿUqbah, from Sulayman ibn ʿAmr ibn Thabit, from Jubayr ibn Nufayr al-Hadrami, who said that he heard Abu al-Dardaʾ—may Allah be pleased with him—say:

“Whoever circulates a word about a man ⦗37⦘ of which that man is innocent, intending to disgrace him in this world, it becomes incumbent upon Allah to draw him near—with that very word—to the Fire on the Day of Resurrection.”
