39 – Ibn ʿĀʾishah said: “I heard a shaykh—counted among the reliable transmitters in his chain—say: ‘The children of Isaac boasted over the children of Ishmael, saying, “Your grandmother was only a slave girl to our grandmother”—meaning Sarah, for she had given her to our grandfather. Allah was not pleased with this and revealed to them: “Do you boast over them? I will surely raise them above you until you will wish that they marry you.”’”

ʿAbd Allah narrated to us: Muḥammad ibn Ziyād transmitted both of these reports to me on the authority of Ibn ʿĀʾishah.
