- Muhammad ibn Yusuf ibn al-Sabbah narrated to us; he said: ‘Abd Allah ibn Wahb narrated to us, from Abu Haniʾ al-Khawlani, that Abu Saʿid al-Ghifari reported to him that he heard Abu Hurayrah say, “I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: ‘My community will inevitably be struck by the disease of the nations.’ They asked, ‘O Prophet of Allah, what is the disease of the nations?’ ⦗50⦘ He replied, ‘Self-indulgence, swaggering pride, rivalry in amassing wealth, competing for worldly gain, mutual hatred, and envy—until oppression appears, and then killing follows.’”
٢ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ بْنِ الصَّبَّاحِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هَانِئٍ الْخَوْلَانِيِّ، أَنَّ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْغِفَارِيَّ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ: «إِنَّهُ سَيُصِيبُ أُمَّتِي دَاءُ الْأُمَمِ» ، قَالُوا: يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ، وَمَا دَاءُ الْأُمَمِ؟ ⦗٥٠⦘ قَالَ: «الْأَشَرُ، وَالْبَطَرُ، وَالتَّكَاثُرُ، وَالتَّنَافُسُ فِي الدُّنْيَا، وَالتَّبَاغُضُ، وَالتَّحَاسُدُ، حَتَّى يَكُونَ الْبَغْيُ، ثُمَّ يَكُونَ الْهَرْجُ»
