10 – Muhammad ibn Salih al-Qurashi narrated to me. He said: Abu al-Yaqzan ‘Amir ibn Hafs informed me, saying: Juwairiya ibn Asma’ related to me, from ‘Abd Allah ibn Mu‘awiya al-Hashimi:

‘When ‘Abd al-Muttalib sensed his death approaching, he gathered his sons—there were ten of them that day—admonished and cautioned them, and said: “Beware of oppression, for by Allah, Allah has not created anything whose punishment comes more swiftly than oppression. I have never seen anyone persist in oppression except your brethren from the descendants of ‘Abd Shams.”’
