8 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; Yaʿqūb ibn ʿUbayd narrated to us; Yazīd ibn Hārūn narrated to us; Abū Saʿīd al-Kindī narrated—reporting what had reached him—from Abū al-Dardāʾ, that he used to say:
“How excellent is the sleep of the discerning and their breaking the fast! How they censure the night-vigils and fasting of the foolish! By Allah, a particle’s weight of righteousness from a person endowed with taqwā (God-fearing mindfulness) and yaqīn (firm certitude) is better, weightier, and greater than mountains of worship performed by the self-deluded.”
