35 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; Abū Yaʿqūb al-Tamīmī ⦗50⦘ narrated to us; al-ʿAbbās ibn al-Walīd ibn Mazīd narrated to us; my father informed me, saying: al-Ḍaḥḥāk ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Abī Ḥawshab al-Baṣrī related to me: I heard Bilāl ibn Saʿd say in one of his exhortations:

“Servants of the Most Merciful, know that you are laboring in brief days for days that will be long; in a transient abode for one that will endure; in a realm of sorrow and toil for a realm of bliss and everlasting life. Whoever does not act with certainty, let him spare himself the effort.”
