3 – ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us; he said: Salamah ibn Shabīb narrated to us; he said: Marwān ibn Muḥammad narrated to us, from Ibn Luhayʿah, from ʿAmr ibn Shuʿayb, from his father, from his grandfather, who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “The first part of this ummah found salvation through certainty and renunciation, whereas the last part of this ummah will perish through miserliness and endless worldly hope.”
