Al-Yaqin - Ibn Abi al-Dunya - (31)

2 – ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us; he said: Dāwud ibn ʿAmr al-Dabbī narrated to us; he said: ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-Mubārak narrated to us, from Yaḥyā ibn Ayyūb, from ʿUbayd Allāh ibn Zahr, from Khālid ibn Abī ʿImrān, that Ibn ʿUmar said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would rarely rise from a gathering without first making these supplications for his Companions: ⦗32⦘

“O Allah, allot for us such fear of You as will keep us from disobeying You; grant us such obedience to You as will convey us to Your Paradise; and endow us with such certitude that the calamities of this world become easy for us. Let us enjoy our hearing and our sight for as long as You give us life, and make them our heirs. Let our retribution fall upon those who have wronged us, support us against those who show enmity toward us, do not let our affliction be in our religion, do not make the world our greatest concern or the limit of our knowledge, and do not place over us anyone who shows us no mercy.”

٢ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، ثنا دَاوُدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الضَّبِّيُّ , ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ , عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَيُّوبَ , عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زَحْرٍ , عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ أَبِي عِمْرَانَ , أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ قَالَ: قَلَّ مَا كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُومُ مِنْ مَجْلِسٍ حَتَّى يَدْعُوَ بِهَؤُلَاءِ الدَّعَوَاتِ لِأَصْحَابِهِ: ⦗٣٢⦘ «اللَّهُمَّ اقْسِمْ لَنَا مِنْ خَشْيَتِكَ مَا يَحُولُ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَ مَعَاصِيكَ , وَمِنْ طَاعَتِكَ مَا تُبَلِّغُنَا بِهِ جَنَّتَكَ , وَمَنَ الْيَقِينِ مَا تُهَوِّنُ بِهِ عَلَيْنَا مَصَائِبَ الدُّنْيَا , وَمَتِّعْنَا بِأَسْمَاعِنَا وَأَبْصَارِنَا مَا أَحْيَيْتَنَا , وَاجْعَلْهُ الْوَارِثَ مِنَّا , وَاجْعَلْ ثَأْرَنَا عَلَى مَنْ ظَلَمَنَا , وَانْصُرْنَا عَلَى مَنْ عَادَانَا , وَلَا تَجْعَلْ مُصِيبَتَنَا فِي دِينِنَا , وَلَا تَجْعَلِ الدُّنْيَا أَكْبَرَ هَمِّنَا وَلَا مَبْلَغَ عَلِمْنَا , وَلَا تُسَلَّطْ عَلَيْنَا مَنْ لَا يَرْحَمُنَا»
